Message From The President Of The
La Salle Military Academy Alumni Association
On behalf of the Board of Governors it is my great pleasure to welcome you to your Alumni Association website.
The Board of Governors is a group of your fellow alumni who voluntarily give of their time and talent to organize and manage events that focus on the Association’s goals. As the current President, I would like to take this opportunity to bring you up-to-date on the State of the Alumni Association.
The Mission of the LSMA Alumni Association is to provide the alumni with a means of staying in touch and informed. To accomplish this mission the Board organizes social events such as our Annual Alumni Reunion and various Sports Nights. It encourages participation in the Annual Golf Outing for the De La Salle School. It has developed and maintains this state of the art website: www.lsmaalumni.org; and it utilizes social networking sites and e-mail to post up-to-date information.
What can you do to be a part of this ongoing mission???
The answer is simple:
· Update your contact information via the website today!
· Attend events such the Annual Reunion and Golf Outing.
· Spread the word about the Association to fellow Alumni.
· Attend the monthly meetings when possible.
· Stay current on your Annual Dues.
The Annual Dues help to offset the operational costs of the Association such as the website, mailings, event planning, etc. They also underwrite opportunities the Association has to direct funds towards organizations such as the Wounded Warrior Project and The De La Salle School.
Last year the Association sponsored two Wounded Warriors who had returned from the Middle East by treating them to dinner in New York City the night before Thanksgiving and by sponsoring a portion of the cost of a gathering of Wounded Warriors at Times Square on New Year’s Eve. We also sponsored portions of the Annual Golf Outing for The De La Salle School. The school offers middle-school-aged young men from financially less fortunate families an education in the Lasallian tradition. I encourage you to learn more about both of these organizations by visiting our website and clicking on the respective links.
Before I end, I must add that we are grateful to our fellow alumnus Marty Bevilacqua, 1st Vice President, for all of his efforts as our Web Master in developing a website we hope you will find informative and that you will return to visit again and again. Your participation and feedback are welcomed and encouraged.
Please always remember: It is your Alumni Association, make the most of it!!! Fraternally, ________________________________________________________________________ Marcantonio C. Marano ‘90
