November 23, 2009

Dear Sir,
I wanted to let the association know of my father's passing. Ralph Lombardi Jr., Class of 1974, passed away suddenly from Cancer on July 6, 2009. While a student at La Salle, my father was Second Lieutenant, he ran track and swam. From the stories I have heard, he was Prom King and his girlfriend at the time, Margie, was Prom Queen. My father was absolutely dedicated to the school and was proud of his accomplishments there. My grandfather was a strong contributor to the school until his passing in 1997.

I was so impressed with his dedication that I have encased his uniform and other articles in a case that I have in my family room.

My father was left with my brother Joshua Lombardi and myself Matthew Lombardi after the passing of my Mother Valerie Lombardi in 1989 from Leukemia. He grew up in Amityville and moved to Sayville in 1997. He worked as a forman for R.A.P Construction of Copaigue until 1989 and then as Maintenance for Brunswick Hospital Center in Amityville until 2007. His last work was with Home Properties as a Properties Maintenance worker.

I welcome stories and e-mails from anyone who may have know him during school. He became ill at age 27 which made him retain a heavy weight from the medications he was on so he may have looked different from his time in school but he always maintained his happy and generous personality.

Thank you for your time,
Matthew Lombardi
