Messages From Brother Thomas Casey
The De La Salle School Dispatch Feb 5th, 2009

It gives me much pleasure to announce that the honoree for our seventh annual Spring Gala is Mr. Peter Castellana. From the beginning days of The De La Salle School Peter has been an ardent and generous supporter of our work at The De La Salle School. More than a quarter of a million dollars have come into our coffers due to his generosity!

Peter reflects back on his experience as a cadet at
La Salle Military Academy
and recalls the importance of knowing and feeling that someone cares. Certainly the young men at The De La Salle School benefit significantly from the caring he manifests for them. Someday they too will be in a position to give something back and Peter’s example is a model for their future philanthropy.

The Gala occured at the Middle Bay Country Club in Oceanside, on Friday evening,
1 May 2009.

NEW MESSAGE AFTER THE GALA, May 3, 2009:

Sincere thanks to those of you who were able to attend the Gala on Friday night.  We had a record crowd of 325 guests who enjoyed delicious food and ambience at the Middle Bay Country Club and the fine music provided by Jerry Costanza and his group.

It was a wonderful tribute to Peter Castellana, our honoree, that so many people came together and contributed to building the scholarship fund at The De La Salle School.  Peter led us in "Driving for Success".   I know you join me in gratitude to Peter for his efforts to promote a successful Gala.  The cooperation and support we received from his staff and his family were the best!

This is a chance for me to echo the words of St. La Salle that I express so often when I share the story of the seven year journey of our school:  "God is so good".  Thank you for being instruments of God's grace for me and my colleagues as we daily seek to touch hearts, challenge minds, and transform lives at The De La Salle School.
