I would like to introduce myself.
My name is Cathy Traynor. I am a 1979 Graduate of  The Academy of St. Joseph in Brentwood, a long time resident of Oakdale and a Real Estate Agent.
My office is located one mile east of St. Johns University/ La Salle Property, in West Sayville.
I would like the opportunity to present to the both of you, "an idea" I have come up with. I am sure this is something that you both have thought about in the past.
Here are my thoughts and ideas,
I am friends with some La Salle graduates on Facebook.
I read a comment that Tito Costacamps wrote under a photo someone took of the boarded up Lake House on the La Salle grounds.
I see these homes everyday sitting  there deteriorating.
The boathouse is also now boarded up.
The Mansion is "FLUFFED UP" on the main floor for catering purposes but I was able to get to the upper floors...Not good... very broken down Very Sad.(photos)
On that day, when I was able to get inside the mansion there were two LSMA Alumni visiting.. When I spoke to them , explaining the reason behind why I was taking photos ,  How I wanted to make a proposal to the Alumni Association...just "an idea" I explained... Of the possibility of the Association purchasing back the property from St. Johns University. To restore and preserve the integrity of La Salle...
They both looked at each other and said " I told you 10 years ago the Alumni should purchase this property" So I smiled... with that said, I continued compiling information. This is part of what I do.
I help create situations that don't exist...sometimes they work out... sometimes they do not. Its all part of my business.
What I will say is this, when I explained to those two gentlemen at La Salle afternoon that, I was a Real Estate Agent his answer to me was...
"don't ever be ashamed of what you do for a living... if you you could make this happen it would be a great thing" they gave there emails and asked me to let them know the progress, and how they would love to be involved.Class of 1960
Their  answers reassured me that this is definitely something many alumni might  be receptive too..
Of course money is the bottom line--
Being this is the 10th Anniversary of the closing of LSMA . I  have requested from the Suffolk County Historical any information they have in there folders regarding LaSalle...I have recieved the copies and would like to share all that information with you. I have shown some of my information to Tito and Roberto Costacamps and they both really liked the idea,as well.

I could create a proposal to the alumni of how it could be done, what is needed, creating a nonprofit organization for (taxes),ideas of what could be done with the property after they purchased it.

This is all part of what I do...It is a buyers market the property is unique and developers have backed away, because of the DEC.

So, I am pretty much done typing for tonight.. I will forward to you emails of all my information (public records) current photos,Land valuation. tax maps..ect.
Very interesting, to say the least.
This letter is an informal a friendly approach, we are friends.
La Salle was part of my life, I was born and raised in Oakdale NY.went to St. Joes, Many great memories, very special place and it truely deserves more respect than its getting.

Please let me know your thoughts..I will forward and mail all my information to you both.Lots of photos!

Please feel free to call.
I would see this through from beginning to end.
It would be truely amazing if it ever could happen, I would be proud to be a part of it.
But I do realize it may never materialize.
Thank you for your time.

Best Regards,
Cathy Traynor

I have attached a public Record Tax sheet.
Please look it over
